That Christ alone will only save us from the punishment of hell. Heaven is the gift, thus it is not our work that can save us. But because of our sin, we don't deserve to receive the heaven. God still punish the people who did wrong, but because he is not only a just God but also a loving and merciful God, He gave His only son, Jesus Christ to be crucified and save us. Jesus take over our sin, through His crucifixion on the cross. And now we are saved through the grace of God. Through Jesus who had been crucified because of our sins. And we can only receive this gift, which is the everlasting life, the heaven and to be with God forever, when we believe that only Jesus is our Lord and the only One who can save us. The cross is only an instrument, but Christ alone is our Savior. Not our work, not the cross, but Jesus alone.
