What we believe

The Parish of Christ Church, Windsor is committed to the foundational and formative principles that shape and define the Anglican Christian witness, particularly, the Ordinal, the Thirty-nine Articles, the Book of Common Prayer (1962 Cdn.), and the Solemn Declaration of 1893. The liturgical life of the Parish reflects its commitment to Trinitarian orthodoxy and to the primacy of the Scriptures by way of the flexible use of the Book of Common Prayer with respect to Word and Sacrament. The worship life of the Parish informs the mission and outreach of the Parish.

In accord with these governing principles, the Parish has had to articulate from time to time its theological position with respect to current questions and confusions in the Anglican Communion. These are posted on the website:

  • Theological Statement of the Parish of Christ Church on Human Sexuality
  • Theological Statement of the Parish of Christ Church on the Anglican Communion

The Covenant in Ministry between the Rector and the Parish articulates the understanding of the parochial ministry.  This covenant is reviewed and renewed from time to time, most recently on 10 March 2009.  Click here to download as a pdf document.
